After their parents died in a fire, Locomotion and Lili got separated into different homes with foster parents. Locomotion’s step brother was drafted and went to war. This book is letters from brother to sister in the hopes that someday, when they are together again, Lili will be able to read them. Locomotion is also a poet.
Locomotion wrote really good poetry. It’s not that I didn’t like it but it was kind of strange that someone named their son “Locomotion.” One thing about the book was that I couldn’t tell what color the characters’ skin was. I would recommend this book, it’s not really for really young children though.
